Company secretary is one of the most sought after course and can be pursued by students who have just completed their 12th Exam. Students with a Commerce background are more beneficial when applying for this course. The role of a company secretary is one of authority and he/she is the legal representative of the company. If you want to make this as your profession, you need to sit for an entrance exam. After you clear the entrance exam you will be able to take admission in the courses of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
Entrance Exams
There are three levels of courses of the ICSI. For company secretary admission, candidates need to clear three levels of exams. For Foundation course, aspirants need to qualify in the certification exam. Then comes the Executive course after successful completion of which, one needs to undergo practical training. Finally the professional program needs to be completed. If the candidates qualify in the final exam they become an associate member of ICSI and can apply in any organization in the role of a company secretary.
Those who want to pursue CS course after graduation need not pursue the foundation course. They can apply directly for the executive course after sitting for a suitable exam. After that they need to complete the professional course and the practical training.
